A Randomized Clinical Trial Investigating Treatments for Painful Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy of the Feet

The procedure will be billed to the patient’s insurance.

Length of study: 12 months (4 patch applications)

Participants:

Inclusion Criteria:

  •  Adult individuals with a documented diagnosis of diabetes and painful DPN affecting the feet.
  • Male/Female 18 years of age or older
  • Has diagnosis of painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy
  • Non-irritated skin in the area of application

 Exclusion Criteria:

  • Individuals with contraindications to specific treatments or other medical conditions that could confound the study results.
  • Cannot have had previous treatment with capsaicin 8% patch
  • No use of any topical pain medication on the painful areas within 7 days preceding first patch application
